elitists strike again

some things happen throughout the course of my life that is so moronic, i just can't muster up any capability to even blog about it. the past..month has been those days. today in acting class, our teacher failed to show up today because she had to pick up her kids (and in all honestly, i'm ok with that) so the elitist duo of the class decided to take matters into their own hands and have everyone perform the scheduled five minute plays that were due today. they both had the nerve to viciously critique everyone from their posture, to their voice projection, lines, and everything else you could possibly critique on. and the rest of the class seemed to be a little annoyed at their disrespect and pseudoauthoritarian demeanor. in other words (umm who the hell put you guys in charge?) of course when elitist 1 performed her act (and not without flubs) and gets critiqued on, naturally elitists 2 offsets what everyone else is saying and goes "whatever you guys, i think it was great. i just thought it was great." with a smug look.

of course when i went up they hardly had a thing to say, and within well reason. i happened to know my lines by heart while those two bitches were still reading off the paper. funny how they believe just how blessed they are with there god given talent in acting. interesting how they feel the imminent need to talk down to others in acting I since they happened to FAIL THE COURSE last year.

transcendent and amnesic

this is my newest creation, but i need to think of a beginning stanza to link it all together..

with a sight such as this
its beauty must be uncharted
with a glance to his closed palms
a map rests silenced

with faces freckled
and sunlight gracing bright eyes
she tightens her laces
and jumps in puddles in her father's old boots

who knew what was there
it was scarce to their eyes
but they were quick to mellow with a slow song
earth had strung a mighty chorus
with landscapes to mirror dimensions of sound

.streams
.serpentining fjords
.rattle to sleep
.open canvas

i'd like to add those elements

the girl with bullets

if there's one thing i can't stand it's gender roles. as i was switching channels to see what was on the tv, i realized i was at a lost. it's sunday, i don't enjoy watching football, or watching action movies from the eighties. so i turned it on the tv guide channel to get the schedule for the next hour. along comes the spike channel, aka the channel for "men". and this is what they had lined up, monster truck rallies, some show about pimping out your "ride", and some stupid shit about some hot model of the month. who says guys need to be interested in that kind of shit? and why must every woman featured on spike network need to look like a fucking joke? this channel does not speak for all guys, and if i was one, i would be somewhat offended.

now as far as the women on the channel, i have no problem with you wanting to be sexy, feel sexy or just play guys for chumps. but there's a difference between showing your sexuality and exploiting it. this channel is just an inaccurate portrayal of the world. (except LA.) and some people weak enough to follow actually conform to these ideals...

and of course, these gender roles start from birth. the second a baby pops out the whoo haa we drown it with pastel blues and pinks. we give them gender specific toys, and brainwash them with godforsaken commercials of consumption. "this is what you're supposed to like, this is how your supposed to be." it's only a form of control..

svalbard

i've decided to explore the unexplored corners of the earth..so i've made the decision to plan a trip to svalbard before i die. they're only 2,000 people living here and honestly, i'm not even sure how to get there.

oh, how the boat drifts

i was finally able to meet felix before he flew off to germany. we've been trying to coordinate something but nothing had seemed to work out..well not until the last day at least. but i'm glad i was able to see him again. we ended up going to dadeland since he wanted to blow the last of his euro's. his friend who had played tennis with him at our highschool came to pick me up. he was a really nice , genuine guy but he had a really shitty van . it was a little embarressing to get out of. now, i'm not the materialistic type or anything but..it was just a really shitty van to be seen in :oD and it was a little bit comical because he kept dropping us off at places where there were alot of people to go find a parking space. felix had to buy some cookies and candy for his sisters, and when he dropped us off at the front of the grocery store, i didn't have enough time to fully close the door! so he drove off and the side door popped right open. so there he was driving his shitty ass van with the door wide open trying to get a parking space. ha

i told him i wanted to come to germany around the summer..i think that would be a really great trip for gudni and i. we wouldn't have to waste money on a crappy hotel either.

the amateur show

i started to organize all my books neatly in the bookcase today. i was on the verge of tackling the whole guest room but... no i couldn't do it. it's just to much of a mess. i'm just gonna have to wait until i get that "spirit cleaning" in me. it's just this random force that empowers me to clean something. it's like a now or never kind of emotion. it's actually pretty helpful. all i need are some nails..perhaps some tape to hang up all those pictures i have yet to hang.

anyways, i found my favorite picture of gudni and i. it's the one where we're out on the balcony. the weather was like nothing i'd ever expect in iceland. i was wearing my short sleeved dress, and sunglasses. gudni was shirtless and tanning-that kind of hot. but it was so nice to be next to him. we were blasting eg and just talking about nothing. i loved that balcony, it was painted red like the rest of the apartment building. (which was so awesome) we had candles hanging out front and our laundry behind us, a really nice view of our sjoppa, and the dagmamma's backyard with all those little babies napping.. and some hill with a really weird looking tower, and that guy who lived right across from us who kept his curtains open and always went inside the kitchen to open the fridge. sometimes, we'd end up battling giant bees and horseflies but for the most part, they didn't bother us too much.
